Our team, Colourful Screens is a diverse and global team of passionate filmmakers, coming from different skill sets and experience levels, who share the strong belief that representation on screen matters. Through our short film “MisUnderstood”, our team strives to de-stigmatize bisexuality, to inspire queer people to celebrate who they are, and finally, to bring about social change.

Producer, Co-Director, Script Writer, Editor & Colourist
Kasey Medeiros
Kasey was nominated for the Best Director Award and won the Best Student Runner Up Film at the Made in the West Film Festival 2022 for her short documentary “Arco’s World. She strives to use her skills in directing and cinematography to creatively and authentically tell a story that gives representation to minority groups and spreads awareness about social or environmental issues.

Diana Caicedo
Apart from working on "Arco's World" with Kasey, Diana was nominated for Best Screenplay for the short film "The Crab Pamilya" and won Best in the West & Audience Choice Award in Made in the West Film Festival 2023. "MisUnderstood" is a new journey for her, not only in directing, but it is her first personal project outside of university, by which she studies a Screen Media course at Western Sydney University.

Jessica Rosewalk
Jessica graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2022 with a Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in writing and film. She writes screenplays, short stories, and is currently working on her first novel. In her spare time, she can be found learning piano and playing tabletop games, usually alongside a bar of chocolate.

Cinematographer, Gaffer & Assistant Editor
Yoshuya Shimasaki
Yoshuya has worked in the film and television industry as a Cinematographer & Director for more than 25 years, mainly for Japanese Production. Since 2010, he's been a regular cinematographer for an awarded documentary program called "The World Heritage" for TBS; one of the biggest national TV Networks in Japan. He photographed several short films that were officially selected for quite a few film festivals. He also directed and filmed his own short films and documentaries.

Sound Designer
Amy Louise Ross
Amy Louise Ross is a record producer and audio-visual designer from Stirling, Scotland. Having graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2023, Amy specialises in sound for image with a keen interest in translating empirical research to sound for film and augmented reality experiences. As a record producer, Amy has supported Grammy award-nominated artists like Elderbrook and programmed live sets for festivals like TRNSMT. Amy's approach to sound design and production has garnered her recognition within the industry as she continues to push the boundaries of aural storytelling and sonic exploration.

Music Composer
A.J. Stewart
AJ Stewart is a composer and producer from Sydney, NSW. After getting his degree in composition from Berklee College of Music, he spent many years working under some of the top media composers in Hollywood before returning to Australia. Since, AJ has written music for many Australian films and TV shows including, The Murder of Lyn Dawson (Nine) and Muster Dogs (ABC). AJ is also a passionate gamer and has a great deal of experience in game audio having served in an audio director role on various independent games.

Carolyn Koch
Carolyn Koch is a New York-based composer and pianist. She's currently on the composer team with Fliktrax, a premier New York agency for TV and advertising music. Her film scores have screened at DC Comic-Con, DC Shorts International, Indie Short Film Fest, and more. She scored the acclaimed horror feature ENTE (2023) which is released for streaming on major platforms; the soundtrack is available on Spotify. She also contributed a score for a project in the American Film Institute (AFI) 2022 Cinematography showcase. She is a member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers (AWFC).

Marvi Panthania
Marvi is a driven, pro-active, and an eager film crew member who loves being on set. She is a problem-solver with a creative mind. She is passionate about storytelling and films.

Ash is a newcomer to the world of directing, but overflowing with excitement to be part of it! He has always been captivated by compelling narratives, whether they unfold on screen, in books, or through personal anecdotes.

Max Budden
Max Budden is a student filmmaker and freelancer from Sydney Australia. Max is skilled at and enjoys motion graphics work and sound design work, but she has worked on short films as a director and producer. Working in film has been her passion for the past 4 years and hopes to continue making and creating!

Deepak Challa is a filmmaker deeply passionate about directing. His love for storytelling and cinematography fuels his exploration of the creative process behind filmmaking, making him an enthusiastic and eager learner in the world of cinema.

Liam is an animator, editor, graphic designer, and storyteller. He attends university for 'Bachelor of Screen Media' to both establish new skills and strengthen existing ones for a future career in the industry.

Daniel is a student filmmaker that has the dedication to create narratives and present them to the world. His love for stories and how it's executed is expressed through the medium of film, as to combine the multimodal aspects of visuals and audio into a form that can be viewed by all. As such, he wishes to tell tales which captivate the essence of the world we live in.

Patrick is an aspiring actor who has featured in a few short films. He enjoys being apart of the film crew to help out his friends and to gain experience in the film industry. His favourite music genre is 'Metalcore' and his favourite food is chicken.

Luwis Nguyen
Luwis is a portrait photographer based in Sydney. From a young age, he has been drawn to creativity and artistry, dabbling in various forms of expression like drawing and painting. But it was his love for visual storytelling that truly ignited his passion for photography. As a self-taught photographer, he is constantly honing his craft, striving to be the best he can be. His goal? To capture the beauty, grace, strength, and enthusiasm of each individual, showcasing their coolest, most authentic selves.

Megan Cannon
Megan is a passionate filmmaker and video editor from the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland. Armed with a bachelor's degree in film and television, a master's in creative industries, and a deep understanding of content and social media marketing, she crafted a successful TikTok web series (Camera Shy) during her master's program, amassing an impressive 65,000 views. She is keen to continue to further develop her skills in producing, writing, social media managing as well as video editing.
